Out the hole in the fence up the back of the grounds and over the fields. Now that the ditches are no longer frozen I can't cross so many of them but made a couple of circuits round the fields that were accessable, hares flying out from almost under my feet now and then.

Run out to the watertower was slightly shorter than I thought, otherwise we would have made the 300 minutes this week but still up to schedule so far for this shortest of all months.

Good steady run out to the water tower and back, starting from the car parked at the nearest roundabout. Dogs very busy with carting sticks about, Joep of course with one as wide as the path so not very convenient but ach, we all enjoyed ourselves so that's the main thing.

Went out across the fields out the back then across the road to the river, left along the dijk back to IJsselstein. Lowering grey skies let loose occasional tiny needlepoints of snow which gradually gathererd force until I was running through thick wet flakes for the last 20 minutes or so.

Down in the Ditches

Out to the windturbines just as the sun was going under. Turned round and did most of the return route along the frozen water in the ditches surrounding the fields. Skaters all over the country are complaining about the layer of snow over the ice but for running on it's perfect.
