Out at first light to run through the streets after the Koninginnenacht.  On the way into town was joined briefly by a young guy with a beer in one hand and a fag in the other.  He hadn't been to bed yet but managed a fair run down the Nachtegalstraat so full marks to him.

Even the fungus on the trees was orange...

Bloeyendaal to University

Started out for a close to home run as I thought it was going to start raining heavily.  But it stayed dry and I ended up following a new path out towards the university/hospital area of town.  Got vaguely lost on the way back in a housing estate behind the Rietveld Schröder house.

Out to Groenekan and then a shortcut (hmm?) through some woods which eventually led me back to a field behind a farm where I stepped over an electric fence which I'd assumed was off as there were no beasts about.  It wasn't.  I got zapped-nothing too terrible but I certainly felt it and still have a wee red mark above the inside of my knee. 

Carravaggio and the Drizzly Dawn

 Listened to a play about Carravaggio whilst running through the lightest drizzle imaginable.  Saw a fox in the distance (either that or it was a fairly sizable cat with a very bushy tail) and heard a piece on the Scotland Outdoors podcast about the coffin road through Glencoe whilst in the graveyard in Groenekan.

Houten Agila

Ran to Houten to pick up the Agila. (Blogger has been messing with the format and I have no idea how to get my photos the way I want them...) Despite the Rain Radar promising me it would be dry for hours I got fairly wet in a shower on the way there.  Luckily by the time I got to Houten the sun had come out.

Empty Battery in Groenekan

Turned left at the junction where I normally turn right towards De Bilt.  Via Groenekan and the railway line back to Utrecht where I came into town in a section where I didn't really know the way but kept going till I recognised something.  (It was my camera battery that was empty, not mine.)

Via various side streets and canals into the centre and back at last light. Dropped in (very) briefly on Karin. Chased after a Belgian icecream van (a rare site here in the street) to get it to stop for some people who came out of their houses too late.
