Ran about various streets, sometimes ones I've never been in before.  Good time for noseying into lots of houses as I run past in the twilight before folk get round to shutting the curtains.

Tried to acquire this bullterrier as a lodgerdog before going on to the Weerdsluis to see the damage which may well have been some of the reason the cellar flooded the other day, for the first time in 10 years.

Steady to torrential rain all day so finally went out at the end of the afternoon.  The firebrigade was pumping water out of a street where the drains couldn't cope with the amount of water.  I occasionally found myself up to my ankles but it wasn't really cold.

Good long early run.
Flocks of geese heading south. Harvested stuff for sale at the side of the road.  A late nest of ducklings and the announcement of when the famous Gouda by Candlelight is this year.

Unfortunately my Garmin battery ran out shortly after leaving the house so I have no official record of the 21+k I ran today.  8+there, 5k race and 8+back.  But I did complete the 5k in 28+minutes so was pleased with that.  During the race I felt I wasn't doing that brilliantly as the couple of people I managed to pass overtook me again shortly afterwards but still, the competition did make me run slightly faster than if I'm on my own.  Annoying tickle in my throat too, which didn't help.  It's still not quite right, despite having drunk about a liter of tea.  Anyway, good run.  Course was a bit dull, despite being billed as along the river, most of it was through fairly boring housing estates.

Finally got round to looking up the official times and saw that my netto time was 28.01 so even more pleased than I already was.  I'd forgotten to look properly at the finish line and only saw that it was more than 28 once I'd got to the chip deposit bit.

Pressed the snooze button and briefly considered postponing my run till the evening but knew I would regret it if I did so got up, hung up the washing and got out the door in time to see the pre-sunrise pink streaks in the sky.  Even remembered to take my gloves.  (Having 2 pairs strategically placed where I could see them helped...)
Annoyingly Blogger has decided to rotate all my sky pics but I suppose it doesn't make much difference at which angle the streaks are...
