Didn't go all the way along to the beach as there was an evil North wind so we just did the circuit along the canal behind the tattie field then round the back of the gasworks. Did a bit of a sprint when the dog was lagging behind to sniff endlessly at something fascinating and wouldn't come when I called so I ran back to him to swear loudly and get him moving again. (This amuses him greatly and he briefly jumps around me like a prancing lion but I can also see in the set of his ears that he knows he's done wrong and he keeps closer to me for the rest of the run home.)
