Saw a stoat, or possibly a weasel, who really knows such things, running along the road in front of me this morning. At first, from behind, I thought it was a large rat, but then it crossed the road and I saw it in full length profile, complete with mouse in its mouth. It ran along the other side for a few more seconds then dived into the long grass of the verge to eat its breakfast. I heard it rustling but could no longer see it.
