Thunderstruck mYpod

65 min
Start 20.30
I knew that heavy rain was forecast but wanted to get out anyway before dark. When I was out on the dunes the sky was almost on top of me and I headed for the relative shelter of the surrounding trees just as the first heavy warm drops started to fall.

It actually felt great to run in. I was wearing the 'technical' t-shirt (I'm never exactly sure what this term means, but anyway it's not cotton so doesn't weigh a ton when wet and 'wicks' the moisture away from your skin apparantly) I got for (not) running the cancelled Egmond half in January. Switched mYpod from the running podcast to my favourite new music selection to speed up my run home and was pounding along thinking I'd have to sort out putting my own music on so I could call up AC/DC's Thunderstruck at such perfectly apt moments when it suddenly died on me. Don't think the switch on the earphone wires can cope with so much rain. No doubt that's how my last set kept working worse and worse.
Anyway, put it on a dry teatowel in a saucepan on a very low heat when I got home and it seems to be working as it should again now. Sky was beautifully lit up as the sun had just sunk through a lowslung gap in the clouds by the time I got back to the Eng.
