Horse and hand

Today's words of wisdom on my rip-a-page-a-day running calendar were: 'The most difficult step a runner takes is the first one out the door.' When it's cold and grey it's always difficult actually to start a run. And yet, once out there it's always enjoyable once I've got going, so why this terrible inertia every time? I love the moment when I get out to the dunes (20 minutes run away) and come out into that empty space. Especially when it's All Mine, which during the week and at dusk it often is. Anyway, heard some handy tips about hillrunning on number 36 of The Extra Mile Podcast during today's run. Stopped to pat a horse who came up to the fence to say hello
