Running in shorts and t-shirt and sunshine was a pleasant change. There was a good bit of wind so it wasn't exactly warm but it was just the right temperature for an afternoon run for me. At one point I took a wrong turning in the nature reservation where the Highland Coos live and rather than going all the way back I took a short cut across the reeded inlet of the river which was blocking my way. Water only came up to about my ankles so it was worth doing and saved a longer detour. Sproet looked a bit amazed (he often does...) but once he'd understood that we really were going forward he sprang through the mud enthusiastically enough.
